Open questions on AI and ML to predict disease progression
New AI and ML approaches and algorithms (including those developed within the ALAMEDA project) may provide hints on MS progression to predict relevant events.
It will be important to consider how to manage this prospectic information:
- should people living with the disease be the first to be informed about the results of the predictive algorithms?
- how can they handle positive/negative outcomes?
- what will be the role of healthcare professionals in results understanding, sharing and decision making?
